Moving Glasgow Airport forward

“all text used is from the official Glasgow Airport Page”

With effect from Tuesday June 8 we are changing the way passengers and motorists access Glasgow Airport. You will start to see changes in the forecourt area from that date.

We’re investing £2 million to make it easier and safer for passengers to access the airport, with a new purpose built passenger drop-off zone opening close to the main terminal.

The new facility is a short walk from international arrivals and check-in, and will replace the temporary drop-off and pick-up zone in the multi-storey car park, introduced after the 2007 terrorist attack.

A canopy will link the new drop-off zone directly to the main terminal and flight information screens will provide live updates on all departing and arriving flights. Help points will be available for any passenger in need of assistance.

New arrangements are also being introduced for passenger pick-up and special provision has been made for passengers with reduced mobility.

Improved signage and landscaping will make it easier for passengers and motorists to find their way around the airport, and a new entrance will be created for the main multi-storey car park, improving access from the M8.

The investment will improve access and ease congestion at Glasgow Airport, while also providing an attractive facility for our passengers.

At Glasgow Airport, we work hard to ensure our passengers have an easy, enjoyable journey through our airport. With the existing airport nearing capacity, we knew that major work was needed. So we have spent the last year and £31 million transforming our airport with a major new terminal extension. Now we can offer you more space to relax, a wider choice of bars, shops and restuarants, and state-of-the-art security equipment to speed you safely on your way.

This is just the start of our journey though. Over the next ten years, we will invest more than £200 million at Glasgow Airport, building a modern, 21st Century gateway for Scotland.

We’re very proud of what we have achieved so far and we’re looking forward making even more improvements over the next few years.

We hope you enjoy the new Glasgow Airport and wish you a safe, smooth journey through our airport.
