A special limited edition lager has been released to toast the first Paisley Arts Festival.
And Paisley’s celebrated Two Towns Down Brewing has taken inspiration from the festival’s finale in its naming.
From Punk to Paolo takes its title from the showcase of the town’s musical story being staged at Paisley Town Hall on Sunday evening.
The lager’s can features a distinct Paisley Pattern-inspired design. It will be available from the Town Hall bar while stocks last.

Michelle Woods, Head of Major Events at festival organisers OneRen, said: “From Punk to Paolo is a fantastic way to toast the launch of Paisley Arts Festival and the Sound of Paisley. We like to think that it’s not just a beer, but a celebration of the town’s spirit.
“We’re really grateful to Two Towns Down for coming up with a perfectly Paisley lager to celebrate a perfectly Paisley festival. This is a fantastic example of the type of collaboration with local businesses that we would like to build upon across our events and venues.”
Themed on The Sound of Paisley, the festival starts today (Friday) with the main opening night event a sell-out celebration of the life and legacy of world-renowned Paisley-born fashion designer, artist and DJ Pam Hogg, hosted by her long-time friend, author Irvine Welsh.
Sunday’s show – for which just a few tickets remain available – is being curated and hosted by broadcaster and musician Vic Galloway.
It will celebrate the significant impact of contemporary music in Paisley, from punk and its iconic sounds and scenes to the ongoing worldwide success of town-raised superstar Paolo Nutini.
The show is being staged 50 years on from Paisley becoming the centre of the punk scene in the west of Scotland.
Performers will include Teenage Fanclub’s Norman Blake, Richard Jobson of The Skids, The Rezillos, Kathryn Joseph, King Creosote, Emma Pollock, C Duncan, kitti and Linzi Clark.
The 10-piece house band will be led by Admiral Fallows’ Joe Rattray, with the collective covering songs by everyone from The Buzzcocks to Altered Images, Aztec Camera and, of course, Paisley performers including Gerry Rafferty and Paolo.
Leisure and cultural charity OneRen say it’s an event that will “chart the evolution of Paisley’s recent musical history, capturing the creativity, resilience, and identity that have defined Paisley through the last few decades”.
Two Towns Down Brewing is a high-profile supporter of people and projects in Paisley, with previous special release beers including one which celebrated St Mirren reaching – then winning – the Premier Sports Cup earlier this football season.
Paisley Arts Festival is supported by Creative Scotland. It takes place from Friday March 27 until Sunday March 29. To see the full programme – and to buy tickets – go to www.oneren.org/paf. Events are being held at Paisley Town Hall and Paisley Arts Centre.
