October 23, 2025- More than 860 community groups and charities supported since 2010
Glasgow Airport’s FlightPath Fund has reached a significant landmark having awarded more than £2 million to local community groups and charities since its launch in 2010.
The milestone was reached following the latest round of funding in October. A total of 870 charities and community organisations have benefited from financial support from the airport’s fund over the course of the past 15 years.

Glasgow Airport first established the FlightPath Fund in 2010 to ensure the communities it serves can share in its success. It supports projects across Renfrewshire, Glasgow, and East and West Dunbartonshire, with a focus on employment, environmental sustainability, and social and educational development.
Elected representatives from the four local authorities sit on the fund’s independent committee which meets bi-monthly and is chaired by retired chartered accountant and former head of KPMG’s Scotland practice, Mr Archie Hunter.
The fund made £130,000 available in 2025 alone, and it was the Renfrewshire Carers Centre that received the amount taking the FlightPath Fund beyond the £2 million mark. The charity was awarded £4,800 to purchase laptops for its Study Buddies programme. The project provides one-to-one tutoring and digital access for young carers across Renfrewshire, helping them overcome barriers to education and reach their full potential.
Archie Hunter, Chair of the FlightPath Fund, said: “Reaching the £2 million mark is a significant milestone for everyone involved with the FlightPath Fund. Over the past 15 years, the committee and I have seen first-hand the positive impact the airport’s funding has had on hundreds of local groups and the people they support.
“Whether it is £350 for a local youth centre or £5,000 for a national charity delivering a local initiative, the FlightPath Fund’s support has always been greatly received and on many occasions, has helped unlock other sources of funding. As Chair, I am absolutely delighted that we have now surpassed the £2 million mark.”
Mark Beveridge, Managing Director of Glasgow Airport, said: “The FlightPath Fund is the cornerstone of our commitment to being a responsible and engaged neighbour. It is fantastic to see the difference this funding continues to make across the region, and we are proud to support the people and projects that help our communities prosper.”
Diane Goodman, Centre Manager for Renfrewshire Carers Centre, added: “We are incredibly grateful to the Glasgow Airport FlightPath Fund for its generous support of our Young Carers. Many of the young people we work with face significant challenges that can impact their education and future opportunities.
“The funding for laptops is a vital boost to our Study Buddies programme, which provides tailored academic support to help Young Carers achieve their national qualifications and reach their full potential.”
Passengers also play an important role in supporting the fund. In 2024, more than £8,100 in spare currency was collected through donation globes placed throughout the terminal.
There is still funding available for 2025 with the deadline for applications for the final meeting of the year being Thursday 14 November.
