Yes, in the blink of an eye, Paisley Film Society has reached the grand old age of one! We couldn’t have done it without your support and enthusiasm – thank you! To celebrate our first year come join us at our next screening (Moon – see below for more details). As well as getting a great presentation from John Pressley of Renfrewshire Libraries, there will be cake . . .
Its been a long three years, alone, on the moon. With his stint almost over Sam Bell (Sam Rockwell) is on the count down to head home, back to his wife and family. Satellite links are down, he is utterly on his own. But all that time in solitude can start to play tricks with your mind.

Harvesting helium isotopes isn’t all its cracked up to be. With only the onboard computer Gerty (brilliantly voiced by Kevin Spacey) for company, Sam soon thinks he is losing it after he sees someone else whilst out on a routine maintenance drive in the moon buggy. Keen to investigate more, Sam quickly realises all may not be as straightforward as he thought.

This is the feature debute for Director, Duncan Jones (the son of David Bowie) and received incredible praise when first released. Though paying homage to 2001: A Space Odessey, Solaris, Silent Running and other vintage sci-fi movies, it has carved out a place in modern sci-fi movie history as being a classic in its own right.
