PIRATES GO FESTIVE

Paisley Pirates play their last home game this Sunday against Kilmarnock Thunder at Braehead Arena (face off 4.30pm) before taking a festive break for a few weeks, resuming with another home fixture against Dundee Comets who will first foot the club on 4th January 2020.

After a difficult few weeks at the Arena the club has discovered some form again, most noticeably with a home and away double against Kirkcaldy Kestrels last weekend in the Scottish Cup, recording a 12-4 aggregate win in the process, which saw them progress to the semi final of the competition.

Head Coach Ian Turley said, “I was pleased for the boys who’ve had a tough time for a few weeks. We stuck to the game plan over the two games and got our reward, and overall our performance was much improved.”

In their last match before the break they take on a toiling Kilmarnock side who lost 11-3 to new boys Belfast Giants last weekend, and Pirates will be hoping round off the first part of the season with a flourish, not to mention a good win.

Off Ice Operations Manager Jackie Turley said, “With this being the last match before Christmas we’re hoping to bring a little festive cheer to the occasion, so apart from supporters being able to buy a mince pie or two to go with their interval cuppa, we’re also running a Christmas tombola when they can have a chance to win a number of excellent prizes for last minute Christmas stockings.”
