The Sword of Honour is one of the most prestigious global awards for health and safety management, presented by the British Safety Council. It recognises organisations that have achieved excellence in managing occupational health and safety risks across their operations. To qualify, organisations must first earn a five-star rating in the British Safety Council’s rigorous Five Star Occupational Health and Safety Audit, which assesses every aspect of their safety management systems.

Winning the Sword of Honour means the organisation has demonstrated, to an independent adjudication panel, a proven track record of best practice and a strong safety culture from the shop floor to the boardroom. These awards celebrate the “best of the best” in health and safety worldwide and are regarded as a benchmark of outstanding performance in the industry.
