UK Accounting Changes: What Businesses Need to Know
April 1, 2026Paisley-based law firm MJC LAW has welcomed two new team members and celebrated two internal promotions, reflecting the firm’s continued growth and commitment to its team.

Kellie Marshall joined the firm on 23 March 2026 as a newly qualified Solicitor, bringing with her a strong foundation in working with clients in sensitive and often complex situations. Her background, combined with her confidence in court and strength in advocacy, adds further depth to the firm’s litigation and family law offering.
Earlier in the month, on 2 March 2026, Jenni Walsh joined the team as an Administrative Assistant through a Modern Apprenticeship. Jenni has quickly settled into the role, supporting both the administrative and client-facing side of the business. Her previous experience and willingness to take on responsibility make her a positive addition to the team as the firm continues to expand.

Alongside these new appointments, MJC LAW is proud to recognise the progression of two existing team members. Calum Forbes has moved into a Trainee Legal Assistant position, following the successful completion of his Modern Apprenticeship and SVQ in Paralegal Practice. Having built strong relationships within the team and with clients, Calum’s progression reflects the commitment and consistency he has shown in his role, as well as the contribution he continues to make across the firm.

Karianne Falconer has also been promoted from Solicitor to Associate Director. Her promotion reflects both her professional ability and the crucial role she plays within the firm, recognising her continued contribution to the business and its success.
Matthew Coffield, firm owner and director at MJC LAW, said:
“We are excited to see our plans coming together at MJC LAW. We have a great deal more still to happen this year to mark our 10th anniversary in business.”
These developments follow a standout period for the firm, marked by being named High Street Firm of the Year at The Herald Law Awards in November 2025.
As MJC LAW approaches its 10-year anniversary in June, this period of growth reflects the direction of the firm. The firm has expanded steadily, with a strong focus on developing the team and bringing in the right people, supporting development, and maintaining the standard of service clients expect.
There is a real sense of momentum within the firm, alongside a continued pride in the work being done and the team delivering it.
