June 27, 2019THEY’RE letting the good times roll at intu Braehead this summer.
The ice has been melted and the curling rink transformed into a fabulous roller skating venue complete with a giant glitter ball and the coolest old-school disco sounds being played.
And yesterday one of Scotland’s top freestyle roller skaters, Jim Whyte paid the new roller rink a visit to check it out for himself.
And while he was there he gave some skaters, who were getting a sneak preview of the venue, a display of his skills and amazing roller skating stunts.
Roller skating sessions are launched on Saturday, June 29 and continue until August 11. The two-hour sessions start at 11am each day and go on until 6pm.
The sessions are ideal for a families as well as regular roller skaters and there are skates for hire at the venue.
Marketing manager for intu Braehead, David Lyon said: “We’re definitely rolling out the welcome mat for everyone to enjoy a brand new fun activity we’ve never had at intu Braehead before.
“The curling rink has been completely transformed with special lighting, a sound system playing some disco classics and of course, the disco ball that will give everyone some glitter as they wheel around the rink.
“It doesn’t matter if you’re a beginner or an expert, our new Roller Skating Rink is the place to be this summer and everyone is guaranteed to have a wheelie good time!”
Roller skating at intu Braehead is a fun activity for all ages, although it’s not suitable for under fives and anyone under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
