Checklist for Landlords: Preparing Rental Properties for Winter
November 20, 2025Renfrewshire will have a brand-new active play for all ages in the heart of the town after a contract was awarded to create the new facility in the Lagoon Leisure Centre.
It will feature a TAG Active arena that will test strategy, speed, agility and bravery as players compete against their friends to collect points using a wristband sensor on lights located around the climbing maze.
The arena features tunnels, crawl space, a cargo climb maze, giant inflatable balls, and climbing frames as part of a vibrant play space designed to promote fitness, fun and competition.
A baby and toddler area will have interactive toys, slides and ramps, dangly snakes and bashbags, balance boxes and giant building cubes, and a range of other exciting apparatus to keep little ones entertained – while there will also be a free play area with chutes, slides and climbing frames.
The active play will also support those with additional support needs through the provision of a dedicated sensory area which will have interactive panels, beanbags, mirrors as part of a colourful imagination zone.
A spacious seating area will allow parents and carers to have a great view of all of the key play zones, while enjoying the extended café available on site – and a new party room will be created to host birthdays and special events.
Councillor Lisa-Marie Hughes, Chair of OneRen, said: “I can’t wait for work to start on this fantastic new facility in Paisley.
“We recognise how important it is for families to have play opportunities for their children, as well the chance to socialise with friends or other parents and carers, and this new active play will provide this right in the heart of the town.
“In addition to the slides and equipment you would expect to see in a traditional soft play, there is a TAG arena which we know young people will love and we wanted to ensure there is provision for those with additional support needs too which is why there is a dedicated sensory area – it’s going to have something for everyone.”
The contract for the works has been awarded to Alliance Leisure Services Limited with the active play planned to open in late summer 2026.
