October 1, 2024The Bungalow have an authentic tribute to The Kinks on tonight. The Kinks Experience is one of the UK’s top tribute bands performing the hits of the legendary Ray Davies and the Kinks. The Kinks are one of the most important and influential bands of all time and set a standard throughout the 60’s 70’s and 80’s.
The Kinks Experience recaptures perfectly the energy and subtle sounds of The Kinks. Playing authentic guitars, keys and amps to carefully keep the sound vintage, the band keep to the original arrangements of the songs, and they are all there in a set list full of hits from You Really got Me, All Day and All of the Night, Dead End Street to Waterloo Sunset and Lola.
The band have become one of the most musically and visually accurate Kinks tribute acts in the UK playing to great reviews at venues all over the country. Tickets on the door from 7pm.
The very popular Divas Soul are back tomorrow afternoon for another jam-packed gig. Doors are at 1pm and it is free entry. In the evening The Audiorayz and MrdB are sure to serve up a massive helping of all the best rock tunes you have ever heard. Free entry from 7pm. On Sunday there is a debut show for the increasingly popular The 79’S. Free entry and doors are 7pm.
In the evening after The 79’s it is The Gong Show. Who will win? You decide. 20 comedians get 5 minutes to make you laugh or they get gonged, and they leave humiliated. Only one stand up will remain standing. The host for the evening is Richie McMahon. Tickets on the door from 7pm. The Tuesday Open Stage starts from 7pm. Pop in and listen, get up for a song or have a jam with everyone. Full back line available. The Bungalow welcome Whissker, Kingston and Mars Rivera to the stage for another Thursday Introducing Night for new emerging talent. Tickets on the door from 7pm.
Get down to Venue tomorrow night and you will be transported back to 1987 with classics such as Paradise City, Welcome to the Jungle, and then into the Use Your Illusions era with You Could Be Mine, Civil War and many more timeless classics. All covered superbly by Guns N Yorkshire Roses who are the ultimate tribute experience. Tickets on the door from 7pm.
The Cave have a busy one this weekend starting with Steven Lavery tonight at 8pm. Tomorrow’s double bill is The Dirty Jewels at 5pm followed by Overdrive at 8pm. Underdog finishes off a great weekend of rock at 6pm on Sunday.
The Keg have the ‘Loopmaster’ Graeme Kerr playing tonight from 9pm and Rock Therapy will be kicking off at 9pm tomorrow night also at 9pm. The Keg Sessions start at 9pm on Thursday when you can see more original up and coming acts
At The Old Swan today from 4pm Ronnie T will be onstage followed by Carlyle at 8pm. Tomorrow Howlin Radio from 4pm and Slider at 8pm. On Sunday Bits n Pieces are playing Mod Classics from 3pm and after that John and Maria will be spinning some Northern Soul Classics for the Soul Club. Monday and Wednesday at 4pm will be the regular acoustic sessions and on Tuesday and Thursday from 4pm Lee James will be keeping everyone entertained with his mix of storytelling, comedy and songs.
Rumours are at Kennedys on Sunday from 3pm and over at The Inn on the Corner Caser and Co start at 4.30pm.
Open Mic/Stage sessions next week are: The Abbey at 9pm on Monday, Ugly Duck Monday at 7pm, The Gantry at 9pm on Tuesday, The Bungalow on Tuesday 7pm, The Keg on Wednesday at 8.30pm and The Cave from 9pm on Thursday. The Inn on the Corner has an Open Mic on the last Tuesday of the month.
