Hundreds access support as Renfrewshire Employability Month continues
September 17, 2025Local people are being encouraged to become part of their community councils as elections take place in five towns and villages in Renfrewshire.
Elections are underway in Bridge of Weir, Elderslie, Langbank, Lochwinnoch and Renfrew, with nomination forms to be submitted by Sunday 5 October 2025.
Community councils are a focal point for community activity and share the views of their fellow residents with organisations that deliver services in the area, such as the council, NHS and Police Scotland.
Renfrewshire Council Leader Iain Nicolson said: “Community councils are a great way to give local people a voice and the opportunity to make changes to where they live.
“As a council, we want to harness the knowledge of local people so it’s important that our community councils are in place to put forward the views of residents.
“If you would like to make a positive difference to your local area, then please submit your nomination form in before the deadline.”
Nomination forms must be filled out fully, include a proposer and seconder who are residents of the area and are listed on the Voters’ Roll. For more information, visit www.renfrewshire.gov.uk/communitycouncils or email community-council.cs@renfrewshire.gov.uk.
