AGS Airports a Cut Above: Three Swords of Honour Awarded for Aberdeen, Glasgow and Southampton Airports by British Safety Council
December 1, 2025Crowds turned out in Johnstone’s Houstoun Square on Saturday to see the town’s Christmas lights switched on for 2025.
Local acts and DJs from Johnstone Sound kept the crowds entertained from the square’s bandstand, and the funfair offered a series of thrills for those young and young at heart.
There was fun for all the family with the St Vincent’s Hospice Christmas market, face painting, street entertainers and a giant snow globe – perfect for capturing those special family memories.
It wouldn’t be Christmas without an appearance from Santa, who was in his grotto to find out what the children of Johnstone are hoping to find in their stockings this year.
At 5pm Renfrewshire’s Provost Lorraine Cameron was joined by competition winner, Jenna from Wallace Primary School, to push the button and light up Johnstone.
There’s still festive fun to come with Linwood’s Christmas event taking place on Friday 5 December in Tweedie Hall. For more information visit www.renfrewshire.gov.uk/events
