November 24, 2025Essential upgrade and maintenance work will take place to improve the user swimming pool at Paisley’s Lagoon Leisure Centre next month (December).
Operator OneRen is carrying out works to further enhance the pool water system by upgrading the filtration system to enhance the swimming experience for customers. This work will also include locker improvements, a replacement LED lighting system, new pool covers and a pool circulation flow meter.
The works will allow OneRen to continue to allow 20,000 swimmers each year to enjoy Lagoon Leisure Centre whilst ensuring facilities are contributing towards the operators commitment to improving energy efficiency and sustainability.
The works mean that the pool will temporarily close from December 8th until December 27th, although OneRen members will have access to the leisure and cultural charity’s other pools at Erskine Pool, Johnstone Community Sports Hub, ON-X Linwood and Renfrew Victory Baths.
Pool users have been contacted to inform them about the works.
A spokesperson for OneRen said: “This is another important investment in the Lagoon Leisure Centre as part of our programme of improvement across all of our facilities. We are excited to see the improvements in user experience become a reality.
“While swimming lessons will need to be paused during the closure, we are keen to highlight that OneRen members can take advantage of being able to use our other pools for general swimming for this short period of closure.
“Thank you in advance to our members and customers for their ongoing support.”
Direct debit payments for swimming lessons will be automatically suspended during the closure period, and OneRen members at Lagoon have been contacted and given the option of pausing their monthly payments while the improvements take place.
