Young people to choose their winners as Celebrating Renfrewshire Fund voting opens

Voting has opened for this year’s Celebrating Renfrewshire Fund as young people get the chance to vote for the projects they think will make the most difference in their communities.

Voting has opened for this year’s Celebrating Renfrewshire Fund as young people get the chance to vote for the projects they think will make the most difference in their communities.

The proposed projects were submitted by young people aged 12-25, or by groups who work with this age group, which aim to make life better and more exciting for young people in Renfrewshire.

These range from volunteer training and educational opportunities to workshops in music, dance and sport.

Now, young people across Renfrewshire can choose what they believe will make the biggest difference to their lives and communities by voting in the Local Partnership area they live.

Voting will take place until midnight on Wednesday 2 July via the Young Scot voting platform, and all young people need to take part is a Young Scot Card.

Community groups can request voting packs where they will be provided with temporary numbers to allow young people in their group without Young Scot cards to cast their votes.

Renfrewshire Council’s Young Person’s Champion, Councillor Bruce MacFarlane, said: “Young people are central to the success of Celebrating Renfrewshire and it’s great to see the range of projects they have submitted for consideration by their peers.

“This is an opportunity for all young people across Renfrewshire to have their say on what projects are taken forward in their areas so I would encourage everyone age 12-25 to get involved and vote.”

The successful projects will be announced at an event later this year.
