Bumper series of events planned for 2025 as success of previous programme revealed
February 14, 2025Scotland’s only Prog Rock Tribute live show is on tonight at The Bungalow. Outside the Original is an exciting progressive rock band, faithfully reproducing timeless masterpieces, primarily from the early 70’s. Their setlist includes classics from Genesis, ELP, King Crimson, Pink Floyd, Rush & YES. Tickets are on the door rom 7pm.
Get your best gear on (that includes your dancing shoes) because tomorrow afternoon SHOUT! The Band are back for a show full of Mod and Soul classics. Doors 1pm and it is a free entry gig.
The fabulous KINKS Experience return to The Bungalow tomorrow night. The band cover all The Kinks best known gritty, guitar-driven hits like “You Really Got Me” and “All Day and All of the Night,” which became Mod anthems in the mid-60s. These tracks were full of energy, aggression, and attitude—everything that the Mod scene loved. The band’s sound blended the raw energy of rock with the style that made The Kinks one of the essential Mod bands of the 60s, even if their association with the movement was more casual.
This might be the perfect way to spend Valentine’s weekend to show your significant other how much you care by taking her (or him) to see The Kinks Experience. Join Refractive for screening of music documentary film, Since Yesterday: The Untold Story of Scotland’s Girl Bands by Directors Blair Young and Carla J Easton. The film screening will take place on Monday at The Bungalow. Tickets are on the door from 7pm.
As always, the Tuesday Jam and Open Stage starts at 7pm. On Wednesday The Bungalow are having a night of female fronted pop acts playing to raise awareness for Scottish women’s rights. Tickets are on the door rom 7pm.
Thursday’s Introducing Night is a Singer Songwriter Session, and the night of live music will have six emerging songwriters featuring Jodie Hillcoat, Serah Verity Miles, Lucas, Lewis Toms, Mike McKenzie and Mathew Barrie. Tickets are on the door from 7pm.

The Cave have four bangin’ bands in this weekend. Starting with tonight at 8pm it is The Poachers, then tomorrow at 5pm Black Triangles will be tearing the place up and whatever is left Wreckless will finish the demolition off at 8pm. Finishing off a great weekend of music is the very talented Nightfly on Sunday at 6pm.
The Keg have Erin Hephzibah playing tonight from 9pm and tomorrow night at 9pm it is The Citadels with support. The Keg Sessions on Thursday is a night for new original talent and starts at 9pm.
The Swan have Addiction on tonight from 8pm and tomorrow afternoon Moonshine Mojo will kick off at 4pm. The Sunday Soul Club starts at 4pm with John and Maria on the decks. Crawford Carlyle will be playing on Monday from 4pm, Lee James starts his comedy and song show on Tuesday at 3pm Duncan Carlyle kicks off at 4pm on Wednesday and Raymond McSherry will be rocking it out at 3pm on Thursday.
The Venue have launched a new event starting on Sunday. It is a relaxing evening with music and dancing and will feature 3 top acts: Matt Fotheringham, Awzpici0us and Michelah Desnai. Tickets are on the door from 5pm. Kennedys have a live band on Sunday from 3pm then over at The Inn on the Corner at Rumours are playing at 4.30pm.
The Open Mic/Stage sessions next week are: The Abbey at 9pm on Monday, Ugly Duck Monday at 7pm, The Gantry at 9pm on Tuesday, The Bungalow on Tuesday 7pm, The Keg on Wednesday at 8.30pm and The Cave from 7pm on Thursday. The Inn on the Corner has an Open Mic on the last Tuesday of the month.
