The Bungalow celebrate 5 years as a Community Interest Company tomorrow with King of Birds, Sound of Lies and the Family Club and Frank’s House. Free entry from 1pm.

Mark ‘Deke’ McGee started playing Saxophone at the age of thirteen, after hearing Bill Doggetts ‘Honky Tonk’ played by the legendary Clifford Scott. He began studying the sound and the stylings of all the great Swing and Rhythm n’ Blues horn men of that era; such as Arnett Cobb, Illinois Jacquet, Herschel Evans, Lee Allen, Sil Austin, Red Prysock, Big Al Sears, Plas Johnson, Sam ‘the man’ Taylor and the great Texas Tenor King Curtis.

As a Sideman Deke has performed all over the world at Jazz and Blues Festivals in Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, London, Dublin, Antwerp, Paris and numerous other places. This has seen him recording, supporting and sharing the stage with names such as Buddy Guy, Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh, Hamish Stuart, Phil Guy, Lazy Lester, Sugar Blue, Zoot Money, Otis Grand, George Melly, The Fratellis, Band Of Friends, Martin Stephenson, The Sensational Alex Harvey Band, The Dan Reed Network, Jackson Sloan and the Rhythmtones, Big George and the Business, The Nimmo Brothers, The Cobramatics, The Beatstalkers and many more. Doors are at 7pm and tickets are scarce.

Bits and Pieces are playing on Sunday afternoon. It is free entry and doors are at 1pm. In the evening Bungalaff is back for more stand-up comedy and the bill looks amazing starting with Colette Boyd, Billy Bremner, Betsy Baudrillard, Scott Morrison, Jonathan Soutar Findlay, MR Chop, Ben Bainbridge, Craig Smith and Rio McWilliams. The headliner is John Gavin, and your host as always is Richie McMahon. The Tuesday Bungalow Jam Open Stage starts at 7pm. The Jam House Band will be there to entertain you and are happy to help any performers for a bit of backing or a full-blown jam that can go anywhere. All backline and drumkit provided just bring your instruments. The Bungalow Introducing Night on Thursday welcomes to the stage, High Flats, Lucas H and Jamie Welsh. Tickets on the door from 7pm.

Highway Chile is at The Keg tonight from 9pm and tomorrow night also at 9pm it looks like a lot of fun and nonsense from The Keg House Band. This is always a great night, and you never know what is going to happen. The Keg Sessions starts at 9pm on Thursday for more original bands and artists.

The Cave have a double bill tomorrow starting at 5pm with Hung Jury followed by Gordon’s Alive at 8pm. Sundays live action starts at 6pm.

Kennedys have an afternoon session of live rock music from 3pm and Moonrocks will be playing at The Inn on the Corner from 4.30pm.
