I caught up with John and Maria and asked how the Sunday Soul Club has been such a success. “It has been a success because our regulars asked for it. We were both DJing a lot at The Old Swan and began getting a lot of requests for Northern Soul. It felt like there was room for a special session out with what we had on already. Our customers wanted to dance to music to which they could relate. So Jac the manger approached us to put on a Sunday afternoon, we tried it, and it has been popular every week “Monday and Wednesday from 4pm is acoustic solo time and on Tuesday and Thursday at 3pm it is the incredibly talented Lee James.
