Paisley Food and Drink Festival returns to the town this weekend for a two-day feastival with plenty for everyone to sample and enjoy.

The popular event, which is one of Scotland’s largest outdoor food and drink festivals, will take place in Abbey Close and Bridge Street on Friday 26 and Saturday 27 April, welcoming a vibrant street food market and host of top street food vendors offering dishes from around the globe.

Visitors can enjoy a tasty line-up with more than 35 street food traders, artisan makers and licensed bars, live entertainment, kids workshops and much more!

You can expect to see some of your favourite Renfrewshire foodie spots like Café Fairfull, Dark God Rum and Two Towns Down Brewing, who will be serving up an expertly crafted beer, Mango No 5, brewed especially for the festival.

Liz from Two Towns Down Brewing said: “We are thrilled to be part of the Paisley Food and Drink Festival once again this year, especially with our new marquee space right next to the Town Hall.

“The space will have the same welcoming atmosphere of our brewery taproom at 47 Back Sneddon Street, where we will be showcasing our diverse selection of Paisley-brewed beers. This includes a special festival brew, Mango No 5—a pale ale bursting with aromas of ripe mango, tangy pineapple, and juicy passionfruit.

“Everyone at Two Towns Down can’t wait to share this vibrant festival atmosphere with you all, demonstrating our passion in every glass we pour!”

There will also be plenty of returning favourites including Scozzese woodfired pizza, Lemon Squeezy and Greek Street Food as well as the Fizzbuz prosecco van and Rum Shack Caribbean bar.

The event will also showcase an array of top-quality artisan food and drink products to purchase if you want to take a taste of the festival home.

If chilled out vibes are what you seek, you can hang out and enjoy a slice of pizza and a tipple at The Brew Hub tented area on the grass at Cotton Street.

This year the ever-popular The Keg will have a special stage and bar on Bridge Street with a brilliant array of bands playing live music to enjoy with a drink and a bite.

Trevor Mills from The Keg said: “We’re excited to return to the Paisley Food and Drink Festival. As a local business we get to showcase what we are about, from our multi-award winning beef burger to the bands who regularly play in our Gilmour Street bar. This year we have jumped at the chance for a bigger marquee which hosts our stage and bar sponsored by Jack Daniels.

“We always take pride in our festival line ups and this year is no different, with Friday being dedicated to the very best cover bands to sing and dance along to and Saturday being used to showcase the incredible bands playing their own songs in our town with an all-original festival worthy line up.”

Paisley Food and Drink Festival is known as a great family event and this year is no different. There’s a packed programme of free kids entertainment on Saturday from pizza making workshops and free face painting to inflatables and balloon modelling. There will also be as Story Wagon with storytelling performances and creative writing activities throughout the day.

An exciting new addition to this year’s kids programme includes outdoor chicken and cowboy show, The Good, The Bad and The Poultry, delivered by Adrenalisim Theatre, where audience participation is very much encouraged!

Over the course of the weekend there will be a host of live musical entertainment including performances from local acts including RockUs Community Choir, Crawford Smith, Shaun Moore, Fèis Phàislig, live DJs and more. The Two Towns Down tent will serve up a range of exciting musical talent over the two-days.

This year will also see Paisley Book Festival, run by OneRen, take place on the same weekend with lots of exciting events designed to ignite a child’s love of reading.

Paisley Food and Drink Festival will take place from 4pm-10pm on Friday 26 April and from 12pm – 9pm on Saturday 27 April.
