Renfrewshire Youth Voice are seeking nominations for the 11th annual edition of the Positive About Youth (PAY) Awards.

The awards honour the outstanding qualities of local young people aged between 12 and 25. There are nine categories to nominate in:

  • Young Volunteer of the Year
  • Campaign for Change Award
  • Young Fundraiser Award
  • Eco Award
  • Forging Your Own Path Award
  • Youth Group of the Year
  • Ferran Hart Young Artist Award
  • Eilish Herron Young Sports Person Award
  • The Unsung Hero Award

Alex McCracken, Chairperson of Renfrewshire Youth Voice, said: “The PAY Awards are held every year with the intent to celebrate and commend the achievements of Renfrewshire’s young people.

“By showcasing all the good young people have to offer, the awards break down the antisocial stigma that is often associated with the younger generation. Young people have limitless potential, and I believe these awards are a fine example of this.”

Nominations are being accepted until 5pm on Monday 16 October, with the celebration event due to be held on Wednesday 8 November at the Normandy Hotel, Renfrew.

Renfrewshire Council’s Young Person’s Champion, Councillor Bruce MacFarlane said: “Young people across Renfrewshire are making significant contributions to their communities and it’s important we continue to celebrate their achievements. If you know a young person who deserves to be recognised, please nominate them for the PAY Awards. “
