Residents are being reminded how they can contact the council for essential services over the Christmas and New Year period.

Although most council offices will be closed from 2.30pm on Friday 23 December 2022, residents will still be able to access the lifeline services they require including care at home, homeless support, community meals and emergency repairs.

The council website has been updated with opening hours and emergency contact numbers that local people will need over the festive period, including information on bin collections, recycling centres, schools and early learning and childcare classes and birth and death registrations.

There is also information available on services operated by partners such as the Renfrewshire Health and Social Care Partnership and OneRen.

Council services will resume normal operating hours again from Thursday 5 January 2023.

Councillor Marie McGurk, Convener of Renfrewshire Council’s Communities and Housing Policy Board, said: “While some of our offices close and certain services offer a reduced provision during the festive period, all our lifeline services continue to operate for those who need them.

“Our website offers information on how best to contact us during the festive period, including how to carry out some services online, so if you need to contact us in an emergency, please be assured that we are still ready and available to help you.”
