June 24, 2019SHOPPERS heading for intu Braehead by car will soon have even better parking facilities.
More than £2 million is being spent on refurbishing both the Green and Red multi-storey car parks.
Visitors to the shopping centre will benefit from new non-slip surfacing, new signage that will make it easier to find a parking space, a brighter look to the lower decks of the car parks and a better environment with trees, bushes and planters.
Work starts on the Green multi-storey – at the Marks and Spencer end of the centre – on Monday, July 1 until mid-October. The multi-storey will need to be closed to allow the works to progress.
There will be a phased closure of the Red multi storey – which leads to the entrance at Starbucks – with decks being re-opened as each section of the work is completed.
The refurbishment work on the Red car park is due to start in January 2020 and be completed by the end of August 2020.
Marketing manager for intu Braehead, David Lyon said: “We will have plenty advance warning signage on the roads leading to the car parks when they are due to be closed. We’ll make sure drivers know exactly where they can find a car parking space.
“And since we have 6500 free car parking spaces there will be ample parking available to everyone while the work is being carried out.
“The comfort and safety of our visitors is very important to us and when the refurbishment work is finished, we’ll be providing an even better experience for people coming to intu Braehead by car.”
