May 8, 2019NikMakeupArtist Finalist for Scottish Beauty Industry Awards and DOUBLE FEATURE IN TIE THE KNOT SCOTLAND
On Firday 3rd of May I had an early rise to get to Glasgow on time for Megan’s wedding day.
Megan was a Galsgow bride and had a perfect vision for her hair and makeup.
We designed the hair and makeup prior to her wedding day and couldn’t wait to give her the full award winning service and create the bridal hair and makeup vision of her dreams.
Once we arrived we set up a the best bridal hair and makeup stations and made Megan and her bridal party feel comfortable and relaxed.
Once we finished up it was time to go home and wash my makeup brushes for Jan’s wedding in Stirling the following day.
I had to stop at my nearest news agents as I had heard that I had been featured in Tie The knot Scotland bridal magazine. I couldn’t wait to get the glossy in my hands and see for myself!
To my utter surprise and delight. I was featured twice in this fantastic publication. Our Thomas Coats Memorial shoot (https://nikmakeupartist.com/blog/f/styled-bridal-photoshoot-thomas-coats-memorial-church-paisley)
got a full page spread and all my fantastic team got a credit in the editorial.
I was also featured as a beauty expert for the bridal eye’s vs lips article.
I honestly was so happy to see my work in print and for a bridal magazine I have been buying to help me with making my own wedding arrangements, this is a dream come true.
After my evening clients, I finally got the chance to check my social media and instantly came across a link from the Scottish Beauty Industry Awards. It was the finalist list and I took a deep breath and clicked on it.
Not in a million years did I expect to see my name under the category of Makeup Artist of the Year 2019. Yet there it was in black and white and for the whole world to see. I can’t believe all day I was in a magazine and walking around a Scottish Makeup Artist Award finalist and was non the wiser.
This was truly one of the best days of my life and completely unexpected.
I was so excited to tell the world about my achievements. I immediately phoned all my friends and family and let all my lovely clients know how thankful I am for all the nominations.
Then I had to contain my excitement and get to bed for my early rise for another bridal makeup in the morning.
I couldn’t wait to do some celebrating and really want to Mark this momentous occasion in true Nik makeup artist style.
First on my list as always was family and creating Flawless bridal makeup for my clients.
Then it was family time with my boy at our favourite spot in Paisley Glennifer braes. I love doing yoga up here it helps to keep me grounded at such an exhilarating time. Walking in the forest always inspires me and we go up here almost every day. Being in nature clear’s my mind and gives me time to reflect and be thankful.
Then off home to do my own hair and makeup for one of my friends Gatsby themed hen party’s.
I woke up today (Monday) and went straight to check The Scottish Beauty Industry Awards link and thought to myself, was it just a dream? My name is most definitely there and Paisley is on it’s way to the finals 30th of June.
The celebrations will continue and to celebrate I will be launching my biggest competition yet. Please follow my social media links to keep informed and get involved!!!
