August 26, 2016FITNESS fans are invited to take part in a national day of sporting activities to celebrate the success of the British Olympic team, in Rio.
Renfrewshire Leisure is making it easy for everyone to take part in the I Am Team GB event, on Saturday, August 27.
That’s when people all round the country take part in sporting activities, in the initiative brought to you by The National Lottery and ITV in partnership with the British Olympic Association.
Renfrewshire Leisure is involved in helping organise what could be Britain’s biggest ever sports day.
The management trust that runs sport and leisure centres locally is offering free tennis, short tennis and badminton sessions at Johnstone Community Sports Hub, between 1pm and 5pm on Saturday.
There’s also half-price swimming between 9am and noon at The Lagoon Leisure Centre, Paisley, Renfrew Victory Baths, Erskine Swimming Pool, Johnstone Community Sports Hub and the leisure pool at the ON-X, in Linwood.
Offers for golfers are also well up to par with Young Scot Card holders getting 18 holes of golf for free between 9am and 5pm at Barshaw Golf Course.
Young Scot Card holders also get 36 holes of golf free if they bring a paying adult. And Barshaw Golf Course members, who bring a non-member, will get two rounds of golf for the price of one.
Chief executive of Renfrewshire Leisure, Joyce McKellar said: “Our Olympic athletes inspired a nation and the I Am Team GB day is a great way of encouraging people to get involved in sport and physical activity.”
