March 7, 2025Byres Rd Big band return to The Bungalow and this time they have a new singer. This top-class band will be blasting out some classic Swing, Jazz and Big Band favourites tomorrow afternoon. Doors are at 1pm and it is a free entry gig.
Laid are the country’s #1 tribute to James. The band play all the hits you want to hear including, “Sit Down”, “She’s a Star” and “Laid” and all this with an official blessing from Tim Booth and the band. You can get tickets on the door from 7pm.
Power trio Moving Pictures are a Rush tribute at the top of their game. They played over 50 gigs in 2023 including Lakeside Park in Canada for Neil Peart’s family. 2024 took them to Europe and Brazil and a tour of UK O2 Academy venues. This year their diary is packed and it’s great to see them play Paisley. This gig is a rescheduled show as the previous date was cancelled due to the storm. This amazing tribute band is a favourite of Planet Rock’s Darren Redick, who has been known to join them on stage, they have recordings on all 4 Songs for Neil tribute albums, including performances with Terry Brown, Hugh Syme and Jacob Moon. You can get tickets on the door on Sunday from 3pm.
PaiSlay the brilliant and funny Drag Show is back on Wednesday. Pai-Slay showcases the best of Scotland’s drag scene. Each night is packed with performances, games and plenty of booze. You can get tickets on the door from 7pm.
The Tuesday Open Stage caters for a jam, solo or band performance. You never know what you are going to get but it is guaranteed to be entertaining. Free entry at 7pm.
On Thursday the View front man Kyle Falconer is in town to promote his new album ‘The One I Love The Most’, expect to hear The View classics as well as solo material. You can get tickets on the door from 7pm.
The Keg have the very talented Cameron King in tonight from 9pm and tomorrow night at the same time it will be Blind Panik. The Keg Sessions start at 9pm on Thursday for more original acts and bands.
The Swan have The Rox on tonight from 8pm and tomorrow Crackerman kicks off at 4pm. The Sunday Soul Club starts at 4pm with John and Maria on the decks. Crawford Carlyle will be playing on Monday from 4pm, Lee James starts his comedy and song stage show on Tuesday at 3pm, Duncan Carlyle kicks off at 4pm on Wednesday and Raymond McSherry will be rocking it out at 3pm on Thursday.
The Cave’s line up this week is Radiola tonight from 8pm, tomorrow The Cave have a Ladies Day from 12pm with Mark Walton singing all the Gary Barlow hits and more followed by Dirty Jewels at 5pm and Godon’s Alive at 8pm. The busy weekend finishes with a live band session at 6pm on Sunday.
Tomorrow evening Venue has a line dancing night led by The Jaybees with lessons from Maggie. If you are looking for a fun country night with some line dancing and great music pop in at 7pm to get tickets.
Playing at Kennedys Sunday Live Session this week is Cherry Red 53, later on in the afternoon The Inn on the Corner have Cranked to 11 on from 4.30pm.
The Open Mic/Stage sessions next week are: The Abbey at 9pm on Monday, Ugly Duck Monday at 7pm, The Gantry at 9pm on Tuesday, The Bungalow on Tuesday 7pm, The Keg on Wednesday at 8.30pm and The Cave from 7pm on Thursday. The Inn on the Corner has an Open Mic on the last Tuesday of the month.
