SHOPPERS are being given more time to find that special gift for family and friends this Christmas.

Braehead shopping centre is to extend its opening hours the week before the big day.

The popular mall will open an extra one-and-a-half hours – from 9am until 8pm – on Saturday and Sunday, December 17 and 18. And the centre will be open an extra three hours – from 9am to 11pm – Monday to Friday, December 19 to 23

On Christmas Eve people can start their last-minute shopping earlier, as the centre is open from 8am until 5pm.

Braehead centre director, Peter Beagley said: “We’re giving people more time to get their Christmas shopping done and even meet up with friends and family in one of our many cafes and restaurants.

“We’ve thousands of free parking spaces and all our stores are under cover giving shoppers a safe and comfortable environment to do their shopping.

“I’ve even heard that Santa does his Christmas shopping at Braehead!”
