Video game adaptations are a separate genre that fans of good movies and original games often argue about. Not all adaptations are of high quality, it’s true. But sometimes, a great story and spectacular gameplay make for an equally exciting movie that can be recommended to those unfamiliar with the original. If you are a fan of games, not movies, then you might like real cash teen patti sites. But we still recommend checking out our movie list before playing.

In this list, you will see the following:

  • Double Dragon;
  • Street Fighter;
  • Mortal Kombat and so on.

Super Mario Bros. (1993)

This film based on the game is, of course, based on the legendary game from Nintendo, which tells about the adventures of the mustachioed plumber Mario in the Mushroom Kingdom. The plot is slightly different from the original, but still the same. So, Italian plumber brothers Mario and Luigi discover another dimension ruled by a cruel tyrant who terrorizes lizardmen. Mario and Luigi cannot stand this, so they help the unfortunate, save Princess Daisy, and fight for the entire human civilization.

Double Dragon (1994)

Another movie based on the classic game from 8- and 16-bit consoles. The Double Dragon series focuses on martial arts street fighting, and the film of the same name follows the original. The action takes place in a flooded Los Angeles. And Jimmy and Bill, two brothers Lee, who own kung fu and other tricks, oppose the forces of darkness led by the demon Koga Shuko. On the flooded ruins of their hometown, the brothers will defeat more than one horde of enemies, transferring the game’s action directly to the TV screens.

Street Fighter (1994)

Based on the game, this film freely retells the source, but Jean-Claude Van Damme plays the leading role here. The original Street Fighter – is a fighting game about the battles of different fighters worldwide, each of which has its own story. But in the tape, William Guile comes to the fore, who must defeat the evil dictator. To do this, he must find the villain’s secret headquarters and fight him personally. The only reminder of the game here is the motley team that gathers around Guile during the adventure.

Mortal Kombat (1995)

The legendary film is based on the legendary series of games, which perfectly transferred the main story and characters to the screen, simultaneously satisfying both new viewers and fans of the original. The plot tells about the best fighters on Earth, who must defend the honor of the planet in the interuniversal tournament. The evil sorcerer Shang Tsung organized this tournament many years ago to throw the universe into chaos and take over weak worlds. And now, only three fighters can save the whole world by fighting the forces of darkness.

Mortal Kombat: Annihilation (1997)

The continuation of the successful action movie is also based on the game series of the same name. However, this time, the mortal battle takes place no longer at an interdimensional tournament but on Earth, where the emperor of the Outer Worlds, Shao Kahn, arrives. He declares to the inhabitants that he intends to capture the planet in seven days. As proof of his determination, the emperor brings in battle robots and even more heroes from the game, including the four-armed Shiva and the monstrous Motaro. But new heroes also appeared on the side of people – for example, the lightning lord Lord Raiden.

Wing Commander (1999)

It is an adaptation of a series of fantasy simulations in which the player acts as a pilot of a starfighter. The film also focuses on two young, desperate pilots who are trying to save their home planet from an army of invaders arriving from the depths of space. But, unfortunately, the battle with the hostile Kilraht race seems hopeless because they have discovered the Earth’s coordinates and will destroy the entire solar system.

Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001)

At one time, when the adaptation of games was a popular and sought-after type of cinema, this film could attract both fans of fun and just lovers of good action movies. Of course, Angelina Jolie, a famous actress, played an essential role in this. The tape tells about the daughter of an English aristocrat who is fond of archeology, pistol shooting, acrobatics, and martial arts. All these skills will come in handy as she embarks on a journey in her missing father’s footsteps, discovering a cache under the stairs in the family mansion.

Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within (2001)

Final Fantasy is a series of cult games in which each numbered part is strikingly different from the previous ones – primarily in the original setting. The action can take place in a variety of worlds, and this film was invented on its own, completely new. The graphics for that time were excellent, but the plot did not let us down either. It took place in 2065 when mysterious translucent monsters exterminated many people. At the center of the story is a group of scientists and fighters who seem to be able to find a way to fight a mysterious scourge.

Resident Evil (2002)

Despite the presence of a popular and meticulously studied source, acclaimed director Paul W. S. Anderson revisited the game’s story. He made an unusual sci-fi action movie that only partially overlaps with the original. In the story’s center is a vast underground complex where experiments were performed on people and animals, and at some point, the virus was able to break out. The problem is that the spread of infection outside the complex threatens to be a disaster for nearby cities and the whole world, so a special forces detachment is sent inside. The girl Alice, suffering from bouts of amnesia, gets inside with them.

Lara Croft: Tomb Raider 2 – Cradle of Life (2003)

In the second part of the adventures of the British aristocrat, performed by Angelina Jolie, the geography of her experiences has become even more comprehensive. This time Miss Croft will visit Greece, Hong Kong, China, and several African countries. Lara will confront a cunning intellectual villain who wants to use an ancient artifact as a doomsday weapon. Of course, there will be more than one spectacular battle and chase on the way to the finale.

House of the Dead (2003)

This movie follows the well-known zombie fighting game. The game is a shooting range with the shooting of the living dead, but in the picture, the plot is much more diverse and intricate, although the action in the end also comes down to the battles of survivors with hordes of zombies. It all takes place on an island where a group of students happens to be invited to a party. But getting out of it was more complicated than getting in.

Resident Evil: Apocalypse (2004)

The action of the second part takes place a short time after the first film’s ending. In the continuation of the story, the virus still managed to break out and capture the city of Raccoon City, whose inhabitants slowly but indeed began to turn into terrible zombies. In this situation, Alice needs to find the daughter of a famous scientist who can do at least something in this situation. Everything is complicated because the heroine is hunted by a terrible monster, Nemesis, connected with her past.
