St Vincent’s Hospice is ‘bowled’ over with the support and success of J G Fleming Bowling Club’s recent Charity Day, where their generous efforts resulted in an outstanding £2,835 being raised in support of the hospice. This fantastic contribution is yet another testament to the dedication J G Fleming Bowling Club has shown over the past 20 years.

The Charity Day, held on 13th July 2024 at J G Fleming Bowling Club in Houston was a celebration of community spirit and generosity, bringing together the local community, businesses and JGF members.

President Bill McColgan at J G Fleming Bowling Club said, “We would like to thank all the JGF members and the members of Anchor B.C., Bishopton B.C. and Kilbarchan B.C. who took part in the competition, and all those who donated raffle prizes, auction items, money donations and bought raffle tickets. Also thanks to the people of Houston, Bridge of Weir and surrounding areas for dropping into the club to buy raffle tickets and for purchasing goods from the St Vincent’s Hospice pop up Gift Shop.

I am sure everyone will agree with me when I say that the real winner of the charity day was St Vincent’s Hospice who, thanks to everyone’s amazing generosity will be receiving the magnificent sum of just over £2,835.”

St Vincent’s Hospice Community, Corporate & Event Manager, Emma Donald, shared heartfelt appreciation for J G Fleming Bowling Club’s continued support: “We are so grateful to J G Fleming Bowling Club and their members for their incredible commitment over the last 20 years. Their generosity and the funds raised at this year’s Charity Day will have a direct impact on our ability to deliver essential care and support to those facing life-limiting illnesses.

Community support like this is vital to our mission. It allows us to continue offering our services free of charge, ensuring that those in our care receive the best possible support during their most difficult times. We extend our deepest thanks to J G Fleming Bowling Club and all those who participated in the Charity Day for their generosity and dedication.”
