Killer Instinct are back at The Bungalow tonight for another tribute set of The Killers one of the biggest rock pop bands of the twenty first century. ‘The Killers’ released their first album ‘Hot Fuss’ in 2004 that produced several commercially and highly successful songs including ‘Mr Brightside’ ‘Somebody Told Me’ and ‘Smile Like you Mean It’. The Album Hot Fuzz was certified seven times Platinum award winner in the UK and multi-Platinum in Australia and ranked the 100th best album of the decade. Other massive hits include ‘Show You How’ and the brilliant song ‘Human’. Tickets available on the door and the venue open at 7pm.

Lemon Soul plays tomorrow afternoon. The band area soul band covering classic Motown, Stax and other artists from the 60’s. It is Free Entry and doors are at 1pm.

Tomorrow night The Liam Gallagher Experience plus support Gerry Cinnamon Tribute hit the stage for a night of Liam’s Gallagher’s solo work as well as the Oasis back catalogue and some great sing along stuff from Gerry Cinna Con Man. Tickets can be got on entry and doors are 7pm.

The sensational Robert T Leonard and Band pay tribute to Tom Jones with a full live show on Sunday. Tickets are still available and doors are 7pm.

 

The Bungalow welcome new up and coming bands to the stage on Thursday. Why not come along and support some of the new emerging talent. The line up is Red Uh-Huh, The Braes and The Wee Reprobates. Tickets £5/3 student. Doors: 7pm

 

Tonight there is a night of The Who on at Rocknrollas, and pounding out all The Who favourites from You won’t Get Fooled Again to Behind Blue eyes is the very popular Substitutes. You can get tickets on the door and it opens at 7pm. The band describes their set as Maximum Who and if you haven’t seen them, it is exactly that. Born of Frustration a James tribute band are on tomorrow night. Boab Williamson of Rocknrollas had this to say about them “This is always one of the highlights of our year. Every year these boys come and put on a show second to none. They are simply awesome and if you are just seeing them for the first time you will not be disappointed. Tickets are still available and you can pay on entry. Doors are 7pm. On Sunday afternoon The Hitsville P.A.1 team are back for another DJ set. Doors open 2pm. Check venue for times.

Tonight The Keg has local celebrity Johnny Barr on at 9pm playing a whole load of your favourite songs and maybe a few guests to boot. Local power trio Proposal are on tomorrow night at 9pm.  The Cave’s busy weekend looks like this: Tonight Bits n Pieces are on at 6pm, tomorrow at 6pm it is Two Dogs Rock ‘n’ Blues Collective and at 9p till late it is Wildcard. Proposal are playing on Sunday from 6pm. The Old Swan have Hot Ratz on tonight from 7pm, Headhunters from 4pm tomorrow, Clyde on Monday from 6pm, Duncan McLellan on Wednesday from 4pm and Lee James Tuesday and Thursday at 3pm. DJ set Soul Sunday is on at 3pm.

Stephen Henry will be playing at Whisky Joes tomorrow afternoon from 3pm. Rumours will be at Kennedy’s on Sunday from 3pm.  The Anchor have a double whammy this weekend starting with vocalist Jon White from 4.30pm and on Sunday also at 4.30pm Jenni and The Blockheads return once more for another afternoon of great songs.

There is a new Open Mic Night for you to check out. Local singer-song writer Stephen Hendry has started a new session in Tannahill’s on a Monday from 8pm. Pop in and enjoy the performances or join in. This week’s Open Mic sessions are Abbey Bar on Monday with Dunky Hunter at 8pm, Jason Flood is the host at Gantry on Tuesday from 9pm; Johnny Barr will be at The Keg on Wednesday from 8.30pm.
