Miller Homes is marking Neighbour’s Week this June (17-22) by getting to know and shining a light on the lovely friendship between two residents at its Hawkhead development in Paisley.

Norma Black (59) and best friend Audrey are joined at the hip, so much so that when Audrey moved to the four-bedroom Forsyth at Hawkhead, best friend Norma and partner John (53) also decided to move to the new development and even bought the same house style.

Norma explains: “Audrey and I have been neighbours for 18 years and quickly became friends. We were both very intrigued when Miller Homes started to build in Paisley, and the gorgeous homes at its Hawkhead development were certainly eye-catching. Audrey and I were eager to know more about the different house styles Miller Homes was building, and that’s where we found our dream homes.

“My partner and I took a tour of the Tait showhome and instantly fell in love. Audrey and her other half were already two steps ahead of us and managed to secure their Forsyth. As soon as Audrey broke the news of their move, we knew the timing was right. Within a matter of hours, John and I were straight on the phone to the Miller Homes’ Development Sales Manager to discuss our options.”

Norma and John have been together for 22 years and have always been local to Paisley. Location was key for the couple. Norma said: “Paisley is a great place to live, and it has brilliant transport links for commuting. Trains and buses are all within easy reach, and Glasgow Airport is just a stone’s throw from our home – perfect for getting away on holidays. I know Paisley like the back of my hand, and it has a lot to offer with its rich history and local amenities. John and I both work in Glasgow City Centre, and Paisley allows us to get into town in just 25-minutes.”

The four-bedroom Forsyth certainly caught Norma’s eye; she said: “Our home is just perfect! John and I are so happy with our Forsyth and love the open plan layout. It’s a quirky home in all the right ways, with a great sized kitchen and social space, which is just fantastic for entertaining when Audrey and her partner come around. John is ecstatic about the garage as this is the first time we’ve had one.

“Bedrooms three and four make the perfect at-home offices for us, which John and I have been taking full advantage of since the move as we’re both still remote working. We’re also getting very excited about entertaining in our garden this summer.”

The Paisley couple personalised their home from scratch and loved this element of the buying process: “We had so much fun picking our options and spending time thinking of what style we wanted to go with. Our favourite part was picking out our kitchen; we opted for an integrated double oven and microwave, which has been brilliant.”

Norma and John were delighted with their Miller Homes journey: “From the get-go, the Miller Homes team at Hawkhead guided us through the entire process, making it super smooth and straightforward. We managed to secure our dream home, and I can’t thank the team enough for all their support here.

“It has been so lovely to make the move with Audrey to the same development, and we’re enjoying life in our new homes around the corner from one another.”

Miller Homes’ Hawkhead development is the perfect place to call home. With a great selection of three, four and five-bedroom homes, there is something to suit buyers at every stage.
