4 Ways to Transform Your Home This Summer
September 14, 2018How Debt-Averse Are You?
September 14, 2018Paisley Pirates take to the road again this weekend as they make the trip to Dumfries to face Solway Stingrays on Sunday, looking to build upon a nervy 7-4 win at Kilmarnock last Saturday, when they twice found themselves three goals behind. Indeed, the final session was under way before they nosed ahead in the game for the first time, having found themselves 4-1 behind at the end of the first period before staging a thrilling comeback.
Head Coach Ian Turley was in philosophical mood as he reflected on last week’s match and looked forward to this weekend’s encounter. “We were a bit rusty in our first competitive match and it showed in the period scores, though we did improve as the match wore on. It highlighted the fact that we have to play for all 3 periods if we are to have any success. We are still behind in terms of where Adam Walker and I think we should be at this stage, but we’ve certainly seen improvements in the squad now we’ve had matches under our belts.”
“Looking ahead to the Solway game, we’ll have had another week of training, and with a couple of players returning we’re hoping to be that bit better, and more structured, than last weekend. We’ve still got a few available places to fill to complete our roster, providing anyone wanting to link up with us will actually improve the squad, and if there are any players out there looking to join, they can get in touch with me through the club at paisleypirates@gmail.co.uk and we’ll be happy to have a look at them.”
The match at Solway face off at 5.30pm.
