Paisley Pirates – update
June 20, 2016Hundreds turn out to pay tribute to our Armed Forces
June 20, 2016Champion Vets would like to share these before and after x-ray pictures with you.
These are of “Morse” a beautiful 7-month-old kitten who unfortunately had an accident causing a serious and painful fracture of his right foreleg – shown in the first picture. When Morse came to our Glasgow clinic we referred him to Champion Vets Paisley to see our vet Martin Liddell MRCVS who is a highly experienced and gifted surgeon, with over 20 years in the Glasgow PDSA repairing broken bones before he came to Champion Vets. Martin repaired the leg using a complicated set of bars, pins and bolts called an external fixator – seen in the second picture. This was a challenging fracture to repair as the break was near the end of the bone – and bones are quite small and fragile in kittens! At the four week follow-up, Morse is doing very well! Martin is a great asset to the Paisley team and allows us to expand the range of surgeries we can do without having to refer to specialists which can often cost owners thousands of pounds. Martin is happy to see cases from any of the Champion Vets practices or other practices in Paisley and can often offer economical solutions to non-insured soft tissue and orthopaedic (bones and joints) cases. Just call our surgery on 0141 889 7638 for details.
