Over 150 free events throughout November will empower residents, community organisations and businesses to build digital confidence and ensure no one is left behind in the digital age.

Renfrewshire will celebrate digital inclusion next month with the return of DigiKnowVember—a month-long programme of over 150 events designed to help people to become more confident, connected, and capable in the digital world.

A man sits at a round table with three women, presenting a slideshow on a screen about email basics. A large clock and window are on the wall behind him, and various items are on the table.

DigiKnowVember brings together partners from across various sectors to deliver a wide range of workshops, drop-in sessions, and webinars. The programme is open to people of all ages and skill levels, from those just starting their digital journey to those looking to deepen their knowledge and explore new tools.

This year’s programme includes sessions on learning how to use a smartphone, being able to spot online scams and fraud, as well as using digital tools like AI. There will be workshops on using trusted health and wellbeing apps, managing stress through digital tools, and human rights in the digital age.

Four adults sit around a round table with laptops, smartphones, and water bottles, collaborating. One man is showing something on his phone to the group. A projector displays a screen on a nearby wall.

Renfrewshire Libraries (OneRen) will host drop-in sessions where Digital Champions will be on hand to offer one-to-one support with devices and online services. Some sessions, such as the Databank Drop-In, will also help eligible residents access free SIM cards and mobile data for those who need support staying connected.

To view the full DigiKnowVember programme and register for events, visit Engage Renfrewshire. While registration is not required for some events, for others you can book your place online, by phone, or via email.

James McKee, Digital Strategy Delivery Manager and Co-Chair of the DigiRen Network, said: “Digital confidence is more important than ever. So much of life happens online now — from booking appointments to accessing benefits or even just chatting with friends. When people feel confident using technology, they’re more independent, better informed, and more connected to their communities.”

A group of five adults sits around a table, watching a presentation projected onto a screen in a cozy room with a clock and windows. The presenter uses a laptop, and notes are on the table.

Renfrewshire Council Leader, Ian Nicolson, said: “DigiKnowVember isn’t just a calendar of events, but a movement rooted in partnership, support, and community empowerment. We’re proud to see the programme grow each year and continue to make a real impact.

“But support doesn’t stop when November ends as our Digital Champions run regular drop-ins throughout the year. Every session, every conversation, and every moment of learning contributes to a more inclusive Renfrewshire, where people feel supported and equipped to navigate the digital world.

“Thanks to all our amazing partners this year for pulling together such an incredible programme.”

DigiKnowVember is organised by Renfrewshire’s DigiRen Network in collaboration with Engage Renfrewshire. For more information, visit Engage Renfrewshire’s webpage or contact the DigiRen network at digital-inclusion@renfrewshire.gov.uk.
