Erskine primary school celebrates top marks from inspection

Pupils and staff at Rashielea Primary School are proud of their school’s positive inspection report from Education Scotland.

The Erskine primary school got four Very Good grades for ‘leadership of change’, ‘learning, teaching and assessment’, ‘ensuring wellbeing, equality and inclusion’, and ‘raising attainment and achievement’.

The report praised the exceptional leadership in the school by the head teacher and depute. Inclusion and equity for all is at the heart of everything the school do resulting in positive and respective relationships throughout and a shared sense of belonging with the community.

Children are friendly, happy, knowledgeable and able to learn independently. They are recognised and celebrated as individuals by staff and their unique voices are central to all aspects of school life. They are making excellent progress in both learning and personal achievements.

Outdoor learning is an integral part of the school’s daily life and enriches children’s learning. It is used across the curriculum, including science, technology, engineering and maths, and supports children to develop problem solving skills.

Staff work together and share expertise and learning, which supports both teaching practice in the school and wellbeing for staff, children and their families.

This recognition is a testament to the innovative and creative approaches of our staff and everyone’s collective efforts including our children, families, grandbuddies, and beyond, making our school a special place for all.”

Councillor Emma Rodden, convener of Renfrewshire Council’s Education and Children’s Services Policy Board, said: “Rashielea’s pupils are thriving, confident and independent learners and are very clearly proud of their school. Staff work together to support their learning and have created a supportive nurturing environment where every child is valued. It’s fantastic to see such positive outcomes through the school’s practice for the young people, the staff and the school community.

“Rashielea is the latest of 11 Renfrewshire schools to receive a positive inspection outcome, which reflects the consistent strength across our schools and support from the central education team. Our schools’ inspection results are also reflective of the recognition Renfrewshire received recently in a national report on all 32 councils’ education services and is proof of our commitment to excellence and making a real difference for our children and young people.”
