“The judges were overwhelmed by both the quantity and quality of nominations received. Narrowing down the selection to today’s finalists was a formidable task. I am thrilled that we have the opportunity to showcase the innovation and commitment of nurses, nursing support workers, and nursing students. Regardless of the outcome, all our finalists exemplify the daily dedication of nursing staff in delivering the best of nursing care for the people of Scotland.”
Colin Poolman, RCN Scotland Director, also praised the dedication of the nominees, adding:
“Our awards are a wonderful occasion and allow us to give some well-deserved recognition for and demonstrate the excellence of nursing staff in Scotland. The calibre of submissions was exceptional, and we hope the finalists, as well as anyone who was nominated, feels the love and appreciation people have for the work they do.”
The winners across all categories will be announced at the grand awards ceremony on 23 May at the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh. The evening will also see the unveiling of the overall RCN Scotland Nurse of the Year 2024, chosen from the registered nurse category winners.
