Weekend Line-Up: Dream On, Project Floyd, and More Live Music at Local Venues

The UK’s no1 tribute to Aerosmith, Dream On are playing at The Bungalow tonight for the first time. Dream On have established themselves as a must see if you are an Aerosmith fan. They have quickly come through the tribute ranks and has been given great reviews from all over the country.

The UK’s no1 tribute to Aerosmith, Dream On are playing at The Bungalow tonight for the first time. Dream On have established themselves as a must see if you are an Aerosmith fan. They have quickly come through the tribute ranks and has been given great reviews from all over the country.

The band deliver energetic and powerful performances, just like the real thing giving a true representation of one of America’s greatest rock and roll bands. If imitation is the greatest form of flattery, then it is blatantly clear that these guys capture the essence of Aerosmith out of a love for the music and its energy. Their aim is to leave audiences feeling like they’ve experienced the real thing. So, if you want to hear hits like Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing, Walk This Way, Dream On, Love in an Elevator and Sweet Emotion done right you can get tickets at the door from 7pm tonight. 

Tomorrow afternoon The Bobby Deans Big Band returns for another early show of Jazz, Swing, American Classics and Big Band. Entry is free and doors are 1pm.

Project Floyd are playing tomorrow night. They are regarded as one of the best in the country are renowned for their superb tribute to one of the world’s greatest musical icons, Pink Floyd. This line up of incredibly talented musicians who make up the Project Floyd show deliver a faithful recreation of the atmosphere, and the musical excellence of Pink Floyd live on stage. 

You get the whole production featuring the whole range of classic Pink Floyd from the Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, The Wall, The Division Bell and much more. Tickets on the door from 7pm.

Restart will be in Bungalow playing all your favourite Mod, Britpop, Punk and New Wave tunes. Free entry and doors are 1pm. 

Tuesday Open Stage starts at 7pm. Pop in for a beer, get onstage on your own or jam in with the house band. The choice is yours. PaiSlay is back and if you have never been this is the best show in town. This brilliant monthly Drag Show was sold out last time so get in at 7pm and get a ticket. 

Los Guacamoles are at The Keg tonight from 9pm. I’ve seen this band a few times now and they never disappoint.  It’s a great fun night with these guys singing upbeat songs in Spanish and English. They have been known have the entire bar up dancing, and it will happen tonight.  Tomorrow night at 9pm it is Bicycle Trip Check these guys from Edinburgh are worth checking out as they are one of The Kegs favourites. The Thursday Keg Sessions for new original artists and bands kicks off at 9pm 

The Cave’s Triple Tipple this week is, Canyon at 5pm tomorrow followed by Splendid Sons at 8pm and on Sunday it is The Mighty Kong at 6pm.

The Old Swan have Proposal in tonight at 8pm, Ruff Edge tomorrow afternoon at 4pm, The Northen Soul Club starts at 4pm on Sunday. On Monday Crawford Carlyle starts at 4pm, Lee James Tuesday and Thursday at 3pm, Duncan McLellan at 4pm on Wednesday 

Kennedys have the very popular local blues rock band Underwood Lane in on Sunday from 3pm and The Inn on the Corner welcome back one of the finest Rockabilly Bands around, Best Bad Influence, and they start at 4.30pm.

Open Mic/Stage sessions next week are: The Abbey at 9pm on Monday, Ugly Duck Monday at 7pm, The Gantry at 9pm on Tuesday, The Bungalow on Tuesday 7pm, The Keg on Wednesday at 8.30pm and The Wee Howff from 8pm on Thursday. The Inn on the Corner has an Open Mic on the last Tuesday of the month.
