January 20, 2023One in Ten are back at The Bungalow tonight for another night of Reggae and Pop. The UB40 Tribute Band One in Ten perform all their hit singles including their debut “Food for Thought” and two Billboard Hot 100 number ones with “Red Red Wine” and “Can’t Help Falling in Love”.
Both also topped the UK Singles Chart, as did the band’s version of “I Got You Babe”, recorded with Chrissie Hynde. Their two most successful albums, Labour of Love (1983) and Promises and Lies (1993), reached number one on the UK Albums Chart. UB40 and the Madness hold the record for most weeks spent by a group in the UK singles chart during the 1980s, with 214 weeks each.

The Brass Monkeys will be pounding out some big band, jazz, funk and even some rock tunes tomorrow afternoon. This is a brass outfit with a twist, and they are renowned for creating the biggest big band sound around. Doors are at 1pm and it is free entry. It’s usually a busy one so get in early if you want a seat or a good vantage point.
It’s not often young bands get a Saturday night slot at The Bungalow but tomorrow night pop down and support the new kids on the block. On the bill is The Revenants and The Lines. These two bands are picking up fans everywhere they go. Doors are 7pm and you can pay on the door.
On Sunday The Deke McGee and the Grooverama Social Club will be playing their rescheduled gig due to Deke Having a throat infection. The gig is sold out but if you are going to the gig, you will be treated to some soul and rhythm n’ blues. The band play their own original songs based around the classic New Orleans, Texas and Chicago styles and sound and for this show they will go out as an 8 piece. Doors are 7pm.
This Thursday’s Introducing Night features The Exploding Onions, 01four1 and Local Authority. Tickets £5/3 students. Doors: 7pm.
Rocknrolla’s have Combat Rock in tomorrow night. The band are reputed to be the UK’s best tribute to The Clash. Boab of Rocknrollas backed that up with this quote. “In our opinion, there is nobody that can touch them. With over 15 years of gigging these lads bring it hard” Expect songs like Tommy Gun, Rock the Casbah, Should I Stay, or Should I Go and I Fought The Law, the list goes on and on.

Blackout are at The Cave tomorrow night from 8pm and Canyon will be kicking off on Sunday at 6pm. Thunder Road are at Kennedy’s on Sunday from 3pm and Blind Panik are at The Anchor also on Sunday from 4.30pm.
The Keg has Clyde guitarist and singer Andrew O’Donnell playing a whole variety of musical styles tonight from 9pm and then tomorrow night sit back and enjoy the tremendous voice of The Highway Chile also from 9pm.
Proposal is playing at The Old Swan tonight from 7pm, tomorrow in ‘The Shopper’s Slot’ is Underdog. Sunday is from 3pm is The Northern Soul Club with the DJ Duo John and Maria. Clyde are in their residential slot at 6pm on Monday. Singer, comedian and story teller Lee James will be performing his ‘Swing Sensation Set, on Tuesday and then his ‘Songs Through the Decades’ on Thursday, both start at 3pm. Duncan McLellan starts at 4pm on Wednesday.
Megan Hart is at Tannahill’s tomorrow night from 8.30pm. Stephen Henry is at Whisky Joes on Sunday for a wee singalong session from 3pm.
