October 20, 2022Voting has opened for this year’s Celebrating Renfrewshire Fund as young people get the chance to vote for the projects they think will make the most difference in their communities.
Applications have been submitted by young people aged 12-25, or by groups who work with this age group, which aim to make life better and more exciting for young people in Renfrewshire.
These have ranged from music and drama programmes to sports equipment and support for young people struggling in the cost-of-living crisis.
Now, young people across Renfrewshire can choose what they believe will make the biggest difference to their lives and communities by voting in the Local Partnership area they live.
Voting will take place until 27 October via the Renfrewshire Council website, and all young people need to take part is a valid Renfrewshire postcode.
This year, participants will have the opportunity to rank all projects in their area in order of preference, with the funding going to the projects with the most votes.
Renfrewshire Council Leader Iain Nicolson said: “Young people are at the heart of this fund, and I was delighted to see the range of applications submitted.
“This is a real chance for them to choose what they think is most needed and make a positive difference to their own, and their friends, lives.
“There are so many fantastic applications, and I can’t wait to see which projects are chosen as the winners, so please encourage all young people aged 12-25 to cast their votes before the deadline of 27 October.”
