It’s a happy fourth birthday for Paisley & District u3a and naturally there was cake.  Members enjoyed it with a celebratory cuppa at their recent AGM.  They also relished a fascinating talk by Mary’s Meals guest speaker, Mary Moran.  This local self-help learning group has kept going during the pandemic by hosting online meetings.  Now people can meet in the Salvation Army Hall in Mill Street, Paisley.

u3a chair, Kathy O’Donnell said: ‘It’s wonderful that we can be together again in person.  Despite the pandemic, our u3a membership continues to grow.  We are a friendly and sociable bunch where people enjoy trying out different activities, including eating cake!  On Thursday 7 April, Dr John Crawford will tell us how Scotland can claim to have the world’s oldest subscription library.  His free talk on the Leadhills Miners library is at 2pm.’
