Glasgow Airport’s new look: £3.7 million investment brings fresh dining and shopping choices
September 25, 2025aisley traded bagpipes for banjos on Saturday 30th August, as Vienna’s and Blur Nightclub played host to a sell-out country takeover that brought a slice of Nashville to Renfrewshire. From 3-8pm, more than 600 party-goers packed into the venue for an afternoon of music, dancing, and pure good-time spirit.

Before doors had even opened, the buzz around town was undeniable. Paisley High Street could have been mistaken for the Shania Twain Appreciation Society’s annual convention, with cowboy hats, denim skirts, check shirts and boots everywhere you looked. Locals and visitors alike got into the spirit, and the anticipation built as country fans flocked towards the venue.
Inside, the club was transformed with a full-on country theme – think rustic décor, hay-bale charm, and plenty of Stetsons in the crowd. The soundtrack for the day was as all-American as it gets, with wall-to-wall anthems from the likes of Morgan Wallen, Dolly Parton, Jelly Roll, The Eagles, Garth Brooks, Carrie Underwood and more. Every chorus was belted back with gusto, and every beat seemed to get boots stomping harder.
Adding extra star power to the day was TV favourite Tom Urie, who dropped country hit after hit, but also had the crowd eating out of his hand with his sharp hosting skills and spot-on song choices. From start to finish, he kept the country-goers on their toes, cracking jokes, firing up singalongs and proving that his talents stretch far beyond the screen.

“It was honestly one of the best afternoons I’ve had in years,” said Alex Spence. “You don’t expect a Paisley nightclub to feel like a Nashville honky-tonk, but that’s exactly what it was. Everyone was smiling, singing, and just having a blast.”
And it wasn’t just about listening to country – it was about living it. Maggie’s Line Dancing Crew took to the floor, teaching enthusiastic revellers the basics of line dancing. Within minutes, groups of strangers were moving in unison, swapping laughs, and finding their rhythm together.
The drinks were flowing, friendships were made, and by the end of the night, there was no doubt about it – Paisley had fallen head over boots for country.

Venue manager Stephen Adams was blown away by the turnout and the reaction:
“We knew there was an appetite for something different, but the response has been phenomenal. People have already been messaging us asking when the next one is – which is why we’re excited to announce that Country Days is back on Saturday 29th November. Almost 70% of the tickets have gone already, which is crazy!”
If this first rodeo was anything to go by, the sequel promises to be even bigger and better. One thing’s certain: as Dolly herself once sang, you can’t make old friends, but you can make a whole lot of new ones on the dancefloor.
And here’s the cherry on top – Mill Magazine has teamed up with Vienna’s for the next one, and we’ve got an exclusive prize to give away: 6 tickets, a reserved VIP booth, plus a bottle of spirits and mixers.
