Renfrewshire Council thanks residents and staff as Storm Eowyn clean-up continues

Renfrewshire Council has thanked residents for staying at home during the red weather warning for Storm Eowyn as the clean-up operation continues.
The council has received reports of debris across roads, fallen frees and some damage to buildings following the storm. Our teams are now working to assess the damage and carry out any repairs and works needed.Our services re-opened as normal on Monday. All schools and ELCCs, expect Renfrew High, were also able to re-open.Renfrew High will remain closed on Monday 27 and Tuesday 28 January due to water damage caused by the storm. Parents and carers are being kept updated as work continues to assess the damage.Renfrewshire Council Leader Iain Nicolson said: “I would like to thank our residents for following the advice to stay home and keep safe during the red weather warning for Storm Eowyn.“This is the first time Renfrewshire has received a red weather warning since 2019 and work is currently underway to assess any damage and carry out the repairs and clean-up needed to keep Renfrewshire moving and services running.“I would also like to thank our teams who have worked tirelessly following the storm to carry out repairs and recovery work so our services were able to re-open as normal today.”To report a fallen tree, blocked road or damage to a council property or building, call 0300 300 0300.
