January 27, 2023Tonight, Southside Texas a Texas tribute band will be playing their first evening show at The Bungalow. The last time they played there on a Saturday afternoon they attracted a bumper crowd that were entertained by a top show pounding out Texas favourites such as I Don’t Want a Lover and more from their White on Blonde album.
Texas’s had thirteen top-ten singles and eight top-ten albums. So, there is a lot to choose from. In support is Jodie Campbell a local singer song writer. Jodie has been working on her guitar skills and she told me she is ready to play her first solo gig without her usual guitarist. She is looking for everyone in the local Paisley music scene to pop in and give her some support. You can buy tickets on the door and the venue opens at 7pm.
Tomorrow afternoon The Bungalow has a bit of Man in Black for you. Jericho Hill will be delivering a fantastic helping of Johnny Cash killers. The set pays homage to Cash’s career with all the hits such as Walk the Line, Ring of Fire, Get Rhythm, Orange Blossom Special and Boy Named Sue along-side some of the darker more atmospheric songs from the later American Recordings such as The Man Comes Around and Hurt. If you want a seat, get in early when the doors open at 1pm. The gig is free entry.
Tomorrow night The Bungalow welcome back Lonehead for another evening of classic blues and rock. I spoke to Martin Jenkins of the band, and he said to me “It’s great to go back to The Bungalow. We are looking forward to playing with The Bleeders and Soapeater. This should be a belter.” Tickets on the door from 7pm.
On Sunday The Boyz are back in town. The Boyz a Thin Lizzy Tribute band return to the Bungalow with their knockout show that features 2 hours of classic Thin Lizzy. Tickets on the door from 7pm.
On Monday for the first time is Ground Floor Jams, an open stage event night which is scheduled for every Monday at The Bungalow. The jam kicks off at 7pm, there is a full backline, entry is free, so why don’t you pop in and get Jamming.
On Thursday the Mickey 9s bring their post-funk evil disco to The Bungalow in Paisley for Independent Venue Week 2023 with support from Motopia, The Barely Responsible and Sovirez.
Anybody who knows the Scottish music scene will tell you that Mickey 9s are one of the most exciting bands to see live. Tickets on the door from 7pm.
