Over the recent years, Glasgow has been the host to some fantastic world class events, and there is more coming in 2017. It’s hard to forget the twentieth Commonwealth Games and the extraordinary 2014 MTV European Music Awards that took place in this UNESCO City of Music. This city host more than 100 music events each week in different venues such as the Barrowland Ballroom and the SSE Hydro. Now you can avoid the January Blues and keep yourself busy with entertaining events in the beginning of 2017.

If you love discovering new things, you will most probably enjoy the Movie and Adventure themed slots at Magical Vegas apart from taking advantage of the free slots upon signing up. Some of the top adventure themed slots are Cluedo Spin Detectives, Dead or Alive, Jack Hammer, Secrets of Atlantis, Jungle Jim El Dorado, Time Gamble, Treasure Compass and more.

Celtic Connections

This January you can enjoy the largest winter music festival known as Celtic Connections. This is Glasgow’s annual roots, folk, indie, traditional and world music celebration where it honours the link between cultures across the world and Celtic music. Thus you can expect to find to find of the greatest artists around the globe together with the best Scottish artists. It will include a cast of more than 2000 artist that will perform in over 300 events that will include free events, art exhibition, dancing, talks, workshops, and ceilidhs. You can catch these performances from Thursday 19th of January to Sunday 5th of February in the various venues.

Aye Write! Glasgow’s Book Festival

This great book festival is all about the best in local, national and international writing, and each year it brings numerous speakers to the iconic Mitchell Library of Glasgow, allowing you the chance to enjoy appearances of top writers and the latest emerging talent. This event will be available until the 19th of March 2017. On 18th January 2017, you will be able to welcome back Peter May at the Partick Burgh Hall at 6.30pm. This will be part of the Aye Write! Presents series. For those who don’t know Peter May yet, he is author of the Lewis Trilogy, the Enzo Files, and the China thrillers, and has sold millions of books around the world.

North Hop

There is something for everyone at the North Hop festival, where you can discover the best drink, food, talent and music that Scotland has to offer by the means of countless events and festivals. There is certainly something for everyone at this festival, and it’s all about innovation things such as rum nights, two day festivals, mini festivals, pop up cocktail lounges, rum nights, gin tastings, food pairing festivities, craft beer and many more. The organisers of North Hop festivities pride themselves for making all the events fun, unique, and informative. They are constantly coming up with new ideas, collaborations and products.
