Hogwarts Legacy got off to a great start in the UK games retail market and has comfortably become the top game over the last few weeks. As the biggest Harry Potter game launch in history, Hogwarts Legacy recorded a 64% increase in sales compared to the second-best release, the Harry Potter and Philosopher’s stone released in 2001.

In fact, the crown for the biggest game of the week for the 2001 release didn’t come at launch week, but rather the second week after enjoying the hype surrounding the Philosopher’s Stone. Even compared to its performance in the second week, Hogwarts Legacy still comes on top by 2%.

The results are even more impressive, considering that’s just for the physical sales. Hogwarts Legacy could have received a huge number of digital downloads, while the Philosopher’s Stone did not have online sales in 2001. As such, the success will be even more pronounced when you consider the physical and online data.

Harry Potter ranks as the 26th biggest video game in the UK, standing behind the Forza series, but above The Legend of Zelda. Compared to 2022’s big fantasy release, Elden Ring, Hogwarts Legacy’s sales in the first week were up 80%. Hogwarts Legacy will be accessible on PS 5, PS4, PS4 Pro, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.

PC players can also access the gameplay while finding online casinos in the UK that offer bonuses and promotions to gambling enthusiasts. Fortunately, you can readily find them here without browsing through thousands of online casino sites in the UK.

82% of Hogwarts’ sales were recorded on PS5, with the other 18% on Xbox series X and S. Digital sales are also expected to reduce the gap between these two platforms and digital share is usually higher than it is in physical, partly because of the popularity of the Xbox Series S – a digital-only platform.

Hogwarts Legacy is expected to continue hovering around charts, with box One, Nintendo Switch, and PS4 versions of the video game set to arrive in the coming months. Standing firm at No.2, Sony’s God of War recorded a 10% increase in sales. This action-adventure PlayStation title is part of the famed PS5 hardware.

FIFA 23 was outranked from the top position to number three after a meager 3% drop in sales last week. However, Mario Kart 8 retained its number four, despite its sales decreasing by 10%.

There were some price activities on the games available on Nintendo Switch last week, which saw several games rise up in the charts. Animal Crossing: New Horizon jumped seven places to rank fifth after a 40% increase in weekly sales. The New Super Mario Bros leaped eight places to sit tenth in the charts

A recent release, Dead Space went down from third to seventh in the charts, following a 52% drop in sales. Spongebob Squarepants on the other hand dropped from tenth to thirty-four in the second week, following a 60% drop in sales.
