Wellsfield Equestrian Centre
With a range of horses available to suit all ages and experience levels, Wellsfield Equestrian Centre is BHS approved and open to those aged four and above. From Shetland Ponies to larger horse breeds, riders can develop their riding skills with the help of trained staff who are on hand to help. As well as lessons, keep an eye out for exciting activities such as children’s pony rides, farm park birthday parties and hacking along bridal paths.
Houston Farm Riding School
The family run riding school is a big hit among parents, home to an indoor riding school with a seating area for spectators to watch in. Approved by the ABRS and BHS, you will be in the best hands at all stages, with lessons from absolute beginners as well as opportunities to achieve SVQ and ABRS qualifications for the more serious equestrian. As well as the indoor riding schools, make use of the outdoor sand area and jumping courses to test out your skills and create some memories to cherish.
The Scottish National Equestrian Centre
Being an all-time favourite for the more experienced rider, The Scottish National Equestrian Centre is suitable for ages of thirteen and above who have experience in riding. Get involved in show jumping and event training using the international arena, warm up arena, outdoor grass arena, 6 furlong all weather gallops and the British Eventing Cross Country course. Rednock Trekking
Hidden in the stunning settings of a family run farm at the site of a medieval castle with breath-taking views of Scotland, there’s plenty to do and see here. Specialising in pony trekking, enjoy a gentle trip in the beautiful surroundings or try something new by getting involved in quad pods, Segway trekking or orienteering. With something for everyone on offer, a day at the family run site is children friendly and the new fairy garden even allows you to hang a wish on the wishing tree whilst you’re there.
