So you have found your passion in life and all you want is to be the best that you can possibly be. Right? Well, you are not alone!

Many people around the globe have fallen in love with art and the idea of creating it for others to enjoy as well, but what if you don’t know exactly the style of art you want to make? This is another area where you are not alone. Finding your art and style is a struggle that many artists go through in the beginning years of their craft.

I will share some of the most important things you can do when you’re in this situation.

Methods & Techniques

Starting With Yourself

The first and most imperative step in finding your style is to look inward. All art that has ever existed in the history of humanity has come from within the mind and soul of the artist. So when you look within yourself, what do you find inspires you? What drives you to spend hours, days, or even months on a single project? Maybe it’s the feeling of creating something new from scratch, or maybe it’s getting to share it with other people. This is a question that you will have to explore yourself!

Inspiration

Another step towards the common goal of finding your art is the inspiration. Everyone is inspired by something. Sometimes it just takes being in the right place at the right time, and you can take steps toward finding that motivation. A great doorway into putting yourself out there is to try something new and adventurous! For example, Life Drawing Classes at www.nudelife.co.uk helps you create a totally unique and unforgettable experience. In fact, when I was in school, I realized that I was making some really cool art at the time, and wondered why I had trouble doing the same when I was alone at home.

Often times the harder you are thinking about something, the more confusing or frustrating it gets. When all you are thinking about is what style you want to pursue or what line is going to go where next, you’ll drive yourself crazy! Something like an art class is a way to just relax, and let the style find you.

Research & Experimentation

The last method I’ll tell you about is a key method in creating any form of art.

Research and Experimentation

Do you know that cliche saying about Thomas Edison failing ten thousand times before creating the lightbulb? Well, that applies to creative motives too! You rarely hear of any great art that didn’t first begin with endless trial and error.

Another significant step in all of this is research! Discovering all the little nooks and crannies of the art world can be amazing, and you may even find something that you’ve been looking for all along. Just remember one thing. The only rule of art is that there are none. So don’t be afraid to think outside of the box and break down barriers that never truly existed. I hope some of these tips and methods help you find your art, and here is a little refresher to sum things up!

  • Start With Yourself – Search inside yourself for what makes you love and want to create art.
  • Find your inspiration – Put yourself out there, and find the inspiration that will help you find your style!
  • Experiment & Research – Make mistakes, think outside the box, and find new art that excites you!

Many artists run into the common issue of being unsure of what their style is but rest assured, you can only get closer to finding your niche and unique touch from trying out the methods you’ve learned about today! As you keep going along this path of discovery, just keep in mind that everything you create is a step further towards reaching that goal. So what are we waiting for? Get out there and create!
