The official opening of the new Merchant Lettings office at 81 Causeyside Street, Paisley, took place on 3 November, when guests from the Renfrewshire business and property communities attended a launch event at the nearby Watermill Hotel. Merchant Lettings is an ambitious company with a fresh approach which has capitalized on local skills and knowledge by taking over an established local firm: Homes Residential and retaining the services of Director, Michael Jardine.

“We are already established in residential and commercial lettings across the Central Belt of Scotland, including Glasgow and Edinburgh, and we felt it was essential to have an office in Paisley to tap into the enormous potential of the area.” says Josh Hardy, Business Development Director. The Renfrewshire area and in particular, Paisley, represents fantastic value for money with its close proximity to Glasgow.

Local landlords are being attracted to the company through a combination of competitive fees, an old-fashioned focus on the personal touch, and high standards of service. Plus, unlike its rival franchise businesses, Merchant Lettings is free to offer a flexible and extremely personable service, tailored to each client.

With around 2,000 properties under management in Scotland’s Central Belt, Merchant Lettings has a strong business base, enabling it to offer Renfrewshire landlords some excellent deals. In the current economic climate, renting out property is an increasingly popular choice and Merchant Lettings is keen to support new landlords. This is one of the reasons why they offer a special option ‘Merchant On Time’ which takes the risk out of renting and guarantees regular monthly payments, without delays, whatever happens. “This is an initiative we are particularly proud of” highlights Josh.

“We are very excited about the lettings market across the whole of Renfrewshire including thriving urban locations such as Paisley and Renfrew and prestigious addresses in Bridge of Weir, Kilmacolm and Houston”, says Josh Hardy. “At the moment we have a good range of steady rentals but are actively seeking houses with gardens to meet demand.
