Hello We’re running a community project where we have £2000 to give to a local project and would very much appreciate your input or suggestions.

Please see further information below.
Kind regards, Kat    The ‘Two Pubs’ Community Challenge Two of East Kilbride’s favourite pubs, The Peel Park Freehouse & Carvery and The Bonnie Prince Charlie have joined forces to set a challenge to their neighbours.

Asking locals to nominate projects that need attention, the pubs have promised to tackle and transform these neglected spaces. Promising £2000 towards materials, The Peel Park and Bonnie Prince Charlie will also provide the manpower required to tackle whatever the community throws their way! Suggestions should be sent to pr@orchidgroup.co.uk and the best idea will be chosen by 9th  June.

The team will then contact the relevant parties and get cracking! The Bonnie Prince Charlie’s General Manger, Billy McLean explains: “We’ve been working hard getting our pubs ready for summer and wanted to help our local communities do the same.  We look forward to hearing ideas from our neighbours and I for one will be rolling up my shirt sleeves and getting firmly stuck in! We’re expecting it to be hard work … but lots of fun too!”

The idea is to get the pubs’ staff making a difference to their local neighbourhood as well as providing a unique opportunity for staff members to work together in teams across all levels of the business.

All ideas are welcome and might include planting a sensory garden at local hospice, painting a kids playground or planting flowers to cheer up bed bound residents at a nursing home.
