[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Paisley & District Scouts will host their annual charity duck race. This year’s event is raising funds for the Brightest Star and local Scouting.

The duck race has benefited in past years from local businesses and organisations providing pro-bono support or buying corporate ducks (£100 each, still some left…). This year is no exception and we are delighted the McCallum School of Music are supporting this year’s event by managing and securing the performances on the day.

“Paisley has a fantastic location and we are delighted to be bringing this event to the town over the next three years.Renfrewshire Council Leader Mark Macmillan said: “The announcement that this internationally-renowned event is coming to Paisley is tremendous news.

“Paisley is establishing itself as a top events centre having hosted the Royal National Mòd, cultural festivals such as Bring It All Home and The Spree, and the highly popular Fireworks Display, and Christmas Lights Switch-On events.

“Our expanding events calendar, aligned to our broader regeneration programme for Paisley, will only become more important as we move towards the town’s bid for UK City of Culture 2021.

“Paisley’s piping links are well known as the town already hosts a popular and successful pipe band competition and that will continue.

GLASGOW AIRPORT UNVEILS NEW LOOK WEBSITE

Glasgow Airport has unveiled its new look website which is the latest in a series of improvements the airport has been making as part of its ongoing, multi-million pound investment programme.

The fresh design of the user friendly website www.glasgowairport.com is in keeping with the airport’s brand which was launched last year with the accompanying strapline – Proud to Serve Scotland.

The website provides a detailed overview of every aspect of the passenger journey including arrivals, departures, passing through security and the airport’s extensive retail offering. It uses a responsive design which means it will re-scale to fit the size of the device being used, be it a mobile, tablet or desktop.

Steven Marshall, marketing manager at Glasgow Airport, said: “We are really pleased with the look and feel of the new website. We cater for millions of passengers every year which means our website attracts a huge amount of traffic. Ultimately, we wanted to enhance the functionality of the site, making it easier for visitors to navigate and to find the relevant information in as few clicks as possible.

“All of the content has been refreshed including our interactive route map which contains travel guides to over 100 destinations served by Glasgow Airport. We have also adapted the website so that it will provide a great user experience, irrespective of the platform being used.”

The website went live on Tuesday 15 April 2014 and also contains information on car parking, the airport’s community work and a Glasgow city guide.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator icon=”camera”][vc_simple_slider ids=”21044,21045,21046,21047,21048″ type=”1″][vc_separator icon=”star”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
