Paisley Art Institute is holding its 126th Annual Open Exhibition at Paisley Museum and Art Galleries until 22nd June; it features over 500 pieces making it the largest exhibition of contemporary art in 2014, featuring many of Scotland’s leading artists.
Continuing a longstanding tradition, the exhibition also features the work of an invited painter and invited sculptor. This year the Institute is delighted to show works by artist Will Maclean MBE RSA and sculptor Tim Pomeroy.
Each year the Institute hosts a Schools’ Art Competition and Exhibition for pupils in Renfrewshire to coincide with the Annual exhibition and the beginning of summer school holidays.
President Michael Durning said “This year we chose Tim Pomeroy one of our guest artists as inspiration for the Schools Art Competition. We aim to introduce schools to a Scottish artist and their work. To inspire the next generation and see the possibilities of what art is and can be. Congratulations must go to all the schools, art departments and pupils that took part.”
