Ideal gift for Mother’s Day – Dorothy Paul at Paisley Town Hall.

Dorothy Paul, the original Dennistoun Diva, BAFTA winning actress and Scottish showbiz legend will be back at Paisley Town Hall on March 9 with a brand new show.

The show, specially written for the forthcoming Glasgow Comedy Festival with an early sneak preview for Paisley, promises sublime music, outrageous comedy, fun and romance all in the company of Scotland’s most gallus gal!


In addition to new stories from familiar characters, the audience will have the unique opportunity to put their questions direct to Ms Paul, who will answer them in her own inimitable style.

With Mother’s Day coming up at the end of March, Dorothy’s show at Paisley Town Hall is the ideal treat for everyone who is a mother, is going to be a mother…or who has a mother!

The Glasgow comedy festival kicks off tomorrow the 11th March 2010 and lasts until 28th March, with venues to suit all comers with events for all the family and of course comedy that is a bit close to the line..

The Paisley Christmas lights were switched on today by none other than X-Factor winner Leon Jackson and Scottish singer Sandi Thom, of course Paisley on the web were around town today taking various pictures of some interesting sites and wonderful lights and fireworks.

We have to hand it to the organisers of the event and for the weather staying so good, it has been the best Christmas light switch on for many years.

Don’t forget this Saturday is the big switch on for the Paisley Christmas lights 2008.

It is an all day event starting at 10am till 5.30pm in Paisley town centre with the lights being switched on by no other than X factor winner Leon Jackson and also starring at the event will be Sandi Thom who will be on stage from 2.45.

Events for the day are as follows:

  • 10am – 5pm Craft Fair in County square
  • Accord Hospice inflatable fun day 10am – 5pm at Paisley town hall
  • Street entertainment at 12 noon
  • Santa’s parade at 12 noon in Gilmour street
  • Radio clyde stage starts at 2.30pm
  • Sandi Thom 2.45
  • Leon Jackson will be performing at 4.15
  • Christmas Lights switch on will be 4.15pm
